Our team
Miss Claire
Miss Claire began her journey at the nursery while completing her Montessori work placement, later qualifying and officially joining the team in September 2016, following several years working as a nanny for families in Fulham.
Her connection to the Montessori philosophy began early, having attended a Montessori nursery in London herself, where its principles helped shape the foundations of her upbringing. She continued her education in England before moving to Ireland to attend cookery school. After spending seven years in the hospitality industry, she felt a strong calling to work in childcare and early years education, leading her to change career paths.
Caring for children has always been one of her greatest passions, and she strongly believes in the Montessori approach of following the child and tailoring learning to each child’s individual needs and interests. She is dedicated to creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment where children can thrive through play, exploration, and social development.
After ten years at Dawmouse, Miss Claire has taken on the role of principal, proudly continuing the story of our London Montessori nursery into its fifth decade, providing high-quality childcare and early years education for local families.
Miss Joanne
Originally from South Korea, Miss Joanne settled in London after getting married. After becoming a parent herself, she developed a passion for furthering children’s education and development.
During that time, Miss Joanne was introduced to Montessori and realised that its method and core values closely aligned with her own approach to teaching and caring for children: Following their interests and guiding them to fulfil their desires and potential while being independent in a well-prepared environment.
Since then, Miss Joanne has worked with the children in various settings, enjoying building trusted relationships with them and their families. She always tries to be a good role model to the children and instil positive traits that stay with them throughout their lives.
Miss Maya
Miss Maya grew up London with her older sister and brother. She has always enjoyed working with children and wanted to be a teacher or chef ever since she was a child.
She started her career as a teaching assistant, helping out at nurseries before deciding to study hospitality at Westminster Kingsway College. After working as a chef, she decided to return to teaching, finding it more rewarding, and studied at Montessori Centre International, achieving her Level 4 Montessori Diploma. Since graduating, she has worked at various nurseries in South West London, never looking back.
Miss Maya’s favourite part of teaching is helping the children achieve their learning goals and watching them grow on their learning journeys.
Miss Odosie
Our lovely part-time Assistant Teacher, Miss Odosie joins our Fulham Nursery three days a week after completing her NCFE CACHE Level 2 Diploma for the Early Years Practitioner. She was initially a volunteer, gaining experience while doing her Level 1 teaching course, and joined the team permanently in January 2022 as a teaching assistant.
Her role is to support the key teachers in the classroom and assist the children in and around the nursery.
